P Mauriat Le Bravo Tenor Saxophone

P Mauriat Le Bravo Tenor Saxophone

ExperienceĀ stunning looks and exceptional sound with one of our all-time favorite saxophones.

The Le Bravo Saxophone from P.Mauriat combines warm, resonant red brass with the powerful, solid nickel-silver Super VI neck to create a thick sound that has serious punch.Ā

Description

The Le Bravo is a beautifully crafted instrument that any serious saxophonist would be happy to play.

Priced ideally for advancing students but serious enough for pro players on a budget. A more contemporary tone to the well established P.Mauriat models principally due to the solid nickel silver neck which adds a huge amount of extra punch. This is the same neck that is fitted to the more expensive PMST-60NS & Black Pearl saxes so a great enhancement to the Le Bravo.Ā

The satin lacquer looks very classy and subtly individual.

Review

The Le Bravo has been one of our favorite saxes here at SAX for some time. The response of the Nickel neck allows for a thick and creamy sound, offering depth not often found in saxes of this price range. The high end benefits really well from this, offering a full and even sound, none of that weedy screechy business. The tenor specifically has a really husky element to the low end, offering a fullness and warmth. Don't be fooled though, this isn't a one tricky pony. When you put some more air through the saxophone it continues to develop and offers and really strong and punchy sound, offering plenty of cut and power for a live setting.

I think this is a really flexible sax that performs at both whisper quiet and full volume. The key work feels smooth and comfortable. it's a really easy sax to get around. The more unique materials really help this sax stand out, along with the stunning brushed finish! A must try in my books. Matthew Racine
